Motorists wanting to get away for an Easter Bank Holiday break are being advised to check their routes before they travel.

Roads across Staffordshire will be busy with many people wanting to get away for the Easter break.

Motorists are being advised to plan their journeys in advance and check local routes so they can avoid the busiest periods.

This year, a further £60 million is being invested into maintaining and improving Staffordshire’s roads during 25/26, with a further £16 million from the government’s Local Transport Grant.

It is hoped that these improvements will create smoother journeys for anyone wishing to travel in the county.

Staffordshire County Council Director for Economy, Infrastructure and Skills Darryl Eyers said:

“We know that lots of people will be looking to get away for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. Our advice to people is to check before they travel to ensure they can have a hassle-free journey to their Easter destination.

“Better still, why not consider staying in Staffordshire and taking advantage of the many beautiful attractions the county has to offer. This way you can avoid the traffic and still have a fantastic Easter break in our county.”
